About Me

Hi, I’m Brenton – founder of The Aussie Lawn YouTube channel and now The Aussie Lawn online store.

From a young age, I had a strong passion for gardening, the outdoors, and especially lawns, lawn mowing, and lawn mowers. I was lucky enough to grow up in a home that backed onto a golf course – a dream come true for a kid like me. It felt like my path was set early on, and sure enough, I found myself working on golf courses not long after.

I left school at the end of Year 10 (school didn’t really click with me – and I’m pretty sure the feeling was mutual!). I landed an apprenticeship at a local golf course and took to it like a duck to water. I loved every minute of it. My time at TAFE reflected that passion – I regularly passed modules with credits and distinctions, which was a far cry from my school days. I still remember one report card that simply read: “zero skill set” – fair to say, they got that one wrong!

Over the years, I worked as a professional greenkeeper at several courses around Sydney and at The Vintage in the Hunter Valley. While I’m no longer in the golf course industry, my love for the trade lives on through my YouTube channel and this online store.
