About Me

Hi, I’m Brenton Kliem, founder of The Aussie Lawn YouTube channel and The Aussie Lawn online store.

From a young age, I had a strong passion for gardening, the outdoors, and especially lawns, lawn mowing, and lawn mowers. I was lucky enough to grow up in a home that backed onto a golf course, which was pretty much a dream come true for a kid like me. Looking back, it feels like my path was set early.

I left school at the end of Year 10. School never really clicked with me, but once I landed an apprenticeship at a local golf course, everything changed. I took to greenkeeping like a duck to water and loved every minute of it. My time at TAFE reflected that passion too, with modules regularly completed at credit and distinction level. It was a long way from my school days, where one report card once suggested I had a “zero skill set”. Fair to say, they got that one wrong.

Over the years, I worked as a professional greenkeeper at several golf courses around Sydney and at The Vintage in the Hunter Valley. While I’m no longer working in the golf course industry, my love for the trade has never left. It continues through The Aussie Lawn YouTube channel, my lawn care content, and now this online store.

The Aussie Lawn store was built to give Australians access to quality lawn care products, practical advice, and straightforward guidance. The products I offer are personally selected by me, with a focus on products that make sense for Australian lawns and real world lawn care.
